Firstaway encourages its charterers to attend RYA theory
and practical courses. To facilitate such training locally, Firstaway has established Firstaway Tuition a separate specialist training company under the Firstaway banner.
Firstaway Tuition is collaborating with ambition sailing to provide more efficient, high quality and cost effective training programmes.

THE DEVELOPMENT OF FIRSTAWAY TUITION
Firstaway Tuition has consolidated its own position as a high quality training centre, with two new Chief Instructors joining in April 2009 (Sail & Power). Firstaway Tuition is an approved RYA Training Centre for Shorebased and Practical Courses including Sailing, RIB (Powerboat) and Radar Courses

Firstaway Tuition offers a full range of practical and theory sailing courses up to Yacht Master standard and for power boat training, Level 1 through to Advanced Power Boat.
In addition more Specialist Courses will be offered commencing the 2009 Season.

RYA RADAR COURSES - Meet your Legal Requirements
In addition Firstaway continues to offer its traditional enhanced RYA based Radar Course.
Firstaway Tuition specialises in Radar Training identifying its complementary characteristics to AIS (Automatic Identification System), providing practical experience in conjunction with the RYA approved Radar Theory course.
The one day RYA shorebased theory course is provided, using the RYA approved
PC based Radar Simulator as a practical demonstration of radar operation.
Price £95.
This gains you the RYA Radar Course Certificate.
Following this it is highly recommended that students undertake a practical experience course - Navigating at sea using a real radar
Inclusive Price when combined with the RYA Radar Theory Course £199.
This will be afloat on one of our sailing yachts, on our 34' Nelson Motorboat, or on our 6.5m RIB. We are flexible enuogh to be able to offer a combination of both sail and power, covering classic radar sets through to modern menu driven / computer controlled Radars.
It is also possible to carry out practical / experience courses on your own vessel. Price on application.
